SRINAGAR: Shopian Working Journalists’ Association ( SWJA) constituted a body on Saturday. In its first ever meeting held at Batapora Shopian, SWJA elected an interim body.
Senior journalist Mohamamd Ashraf Hammad was elected as interim president while Umar Rashid, correspondent GNS was elected as interim secretary.
Greater Kashmir correspondent Gulzar Bhat was elected as spokesperson of the association.
In the meeting, a host of issues confronting the journalists of the area were discussed.
Prominent among others who participated in the meeting included Fayaz Wani, editor Daily Ilhaq, Jan Nisar Ahmad, correspondent Prasar Bharti, Rashid Hassan, correspondent, Sheikh Hilal, correspondent Kashmir Life, Shah Irshad, correspondent Gulistan Tv and others.
