Clashes erupted in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district between protesters and the government forces on Monday.
Reports said that scores of youth assembled at Papchan Chowk and hurled rocks at the forces deployed there and the forces responded by firing tear gas, triggering further clashes.
Reports of clashes were also received from Gulshan Chowk Bandipora.
The clashes were going on when the last reports came in.
Protest and stray incidents of stone-pelting were also reported from different parts of Budgam including Chadoora, Kralpora and Machoowa.
Reports said that youth, angered over the killings, took to streets and clashes with the forces deployed in their areas.
Meanwhile, normal life was across Kashmir remained affected on Monday due to a shutdown call by the joint resistance leadership against the killings in Shopian district.
The call for the shutdown was given by joint resistance leadership comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
Two militants and four civilians were killed in army firing in Pahnoo village of Shopian yesterday.
