Srinagar

A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday to mourn the killing of a local youth in Islamabad attack on Thursday.

All the shops and business establishments are closed in the district while traffic is off from the roads.

A youth identified as Shakeeb Shabir was killed after militants fired at government forces at Lazibal crossing at about 2:20 pm yesterday, but the fire missed the target and hit him, police said.

Reports said that thousands of people had gathered for his funeral in Bonpora area of Shopian yesterday.
