The critically injured Sarpanch’s brother who was earlier shot at by unknown gunmen in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district succumbed to injuries at SMHS hospital on Friday afternoon.

The man identified as Simranjeet Singh, son of Nanak Singh, a resident of Khasipora at Tral was shot at by some unknown men, resulting in serious injuries to him.

In the incident, Simranjeet received bullet wounds, however, he was immediately shifted to Tral hospital from where he was referred to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for the specialised treatment, where he succumbed to injuries.

Simran Jeet is a brother of Rajinder Singh- Sarpanch Khasipora Tral. Rajindar was associated with Congress party but later contested as an independent candidate.
