As weather appears in no mood to have hiatus on its downpour over valley since Tuesday morning, life remains soaking in Kashmir. Summer capital was caught off- guard, when its alleys, streets and roads flooded in no time and thus, put big question marks on state mechanism in place to deal with any natural eventuality. Kashmir Life’s photojournalist, Bilal Bahadur visualized the showering moments.
Rainy Resolve: Obviously, its one more day of shower, but is weather-wetting enough to hold one back to secure bread? Nay! We know it for sure that fisherwoman is all weather street-face of valley.
Pool Peddling: But then, motion was never casualty in the city of melancholics! So, we decided to face anything on road, we decided to ride in spite of natural and of course, not-so-natural barriers in place. One thing we learn, and learn it well. We learn paddling!
Flood Footing: And who says, we never drench. Shall we remind them that drenching is our only legacy. We heard Wits asserting that silhouettes never vanish. True, they won’t. How could they? They can’t be so forgiven. So, we stroll, even if, downpour keep drenching us and plague our alleys.
Rain Rumble: Aren’t our ways otherwise sopping. They keep on receiving torrent of dripping, maybe, not colorless always! Rhythm is still pacing, isn’t it? Therefore, let the Heavens have free run!
Dare Daughter: So, what can one say, when stride holds nothing back, not even, shrouds! Do you remember, how many shrouds got painted anyways just to add momentum to mass stride? And daughters were dauntless, they still are, when it comes to put on dare tread.
Motif Motion: Now most of us walk, and walk alone; while unison has been long rained down the stream of segregation. And polarized stains appear so stubborn, that even scores of incessant rains couldn’t clear the mess!
Glancing Glimpse: We all saw it coming like a whirlpool. Some chose to be spectators, while some have ventured in the middle of storm. And when it showers, then stagnant glances surpass!
Tangle Trio: When scorched sun was around, streets weren’t so unruffled. But downpour in August altered the scenes. Now when it is wetting around, solace drives scores back to streets. So, why shouldn’t converse flow.
Wagon Wriggle: Surged motors on flooded lanes remind something, don’t you think so? Doesn’t it remind, excessive footing that trampled tiny spaces and leave a chord of awe.
Lively Lashes: You never found my streets dull, or do you? It remained lively, even when trepidation would send souls in tizzy. So, what about this rain? It is just passing and then, rising mercury will make come back. In any case, life never ceases to circulate.
Cattle Class: It is day out for horses as well. And thus said Ronald Reagan: “I’ve often said there’s nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse.”
