Tamheed Bukhari, son of senior journalist and Editor in chief Rising Kashmir slain Syed Shujaat Bukhari has passed the 10th class examination by securing 95 per cent marks.

Shujaat Bukhari along with two of his PSOs was shot dead on June 14, 2018, in Press colony Srinagar.

According to JKBOSE, 41846 of the 55,472 candidates qualified the exam. While the overall pass percentage was 75.44. Boys have registered an overall pass percentage of 76.41, while this figure for girls is 74.40.

Meanwhile, former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have congratulated Tamheed for passing class 10th examinations.

“Excellent news. Well done Tamheed & good luck for your last two years of school,” Omar wrote on Twitter

Taking to social networking site Twitter, Mehbooba wrote: “Best wishes to Tamheed, son of Shujaat Bukhari, Sehar, granddaughter of SASG & all others who passed Class 10 board exams today. To those who didn’t make it, there is no shortcut to hard work. Perseverance is the key to success.”

Former Jammu and Kashmir finance minister Dr Haseeb Drabu also congratulated Tamheed.

“Why do we have to deprive a son from proudly showing  his father, his first idol,how well he has done in his boards? And demand a gift. Why do we have to deprive the father of joy, pride, and satisfaction. Congratulation Tamheed @shujaatbukhari, I can see you are alive in your son,” Drabu wrote on his twitter handle.
