A spontaneous shutdown was observed in Awantipora Town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the “unprovoked firing” by forces yesterday late evening.

The forces, reports said CRPF, according to locals “resorted to unprovoked firing” at Awantipora Town resulting in injuries to three persons who were manning the traffic. The three were rushed to hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

To protest the firing incident, all the shops and commercial establishments were closed at Awantipora today. The locals are demanding stern action against the accused forces personnel.
