Pulwama town in southern part of Kashmir is observing complete shutdown on Wednesday against the arrests made by police in nocturnal raids across the town.

All the business establishments and shops in the town are closed in Pulwama town and traffic is off the roads, reports said.

“We have arrested twelve people in night,” SP Pulwama, confirmed to Kashmir Life.

They are all involved in stone pelting cases,” he said, adding that partial shutdown is being observed in town.

Stone pelting incidents were also reported on Tuesday night after police arrested the youth. Number vehicles were also reported damaged due to the stone pelting.

Pertinently police has made surge in the arrests in south Kashmir. From last month more than hundred youth were arrested.

These arrests are being made, police sources say, because of the by-polls.
