Pulwama town on Monday observed shutdown against the killing of four militants in a gunfight with the counter-insurgent forces in Shopian district on Sunday.

Reports said that all business establishments remain closed while the public traffic is also off the roads in the town.

They said that forces have been deployed at various places in Pulwama town to prevent any protests.

Sources said that people from different areas are visiting the residence of the militants to offer condolences to the families.

On Sunday early morning four militants affiliated with AGH outfit were killed in Daramdora village of Shopain district. The slain militants were identified as Showket Ahmad and Azad Molvi residents of Pulwama; Rafi Hassan Mir and Suhail Yousuf Bhat residents of Shopain district.
