All the shops and business establishments are shut in Shopian and Bandipora, on Friday against the militant killings, police action against civilians and the arrests of youth respectively.

Bandipora town in north Kashmir is observing shutdown for the second consecutive day against the continuous detention of a youth, Arif Ahmed.

The shopkeepers early morning alleged army of beating up them and other locals in the main town last evening.

Meanwhile, apple town of south Kashmir is also observing shutdown to mourn the killings of two HM militants during an encounter a day before.

Many people were injured after the gunfight between the militants and the forces as police used force against protesters demanding bodies of the slain militants. Shutdown is also observed in the peripheries of the town.
