Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Geelani has strongly condemned Shopian firing incident and demanded a impartial inquiry into the gruesome incident to book the culprits.
In a statement Geelani denied any investigation by state agencies, said that ‘’we won’t accept any investigation by state nor they can deliver justice’’.
Geelani while commenting over Zubin Mehta’s musical concert said that amidst musical concert, unprovoked and unjustified’ firing in Shopian in which four persons lost their lives. has proved that situation in Kashmir is grim and added it is better for German ambassador and Zubin Mehta ,to apologize and carry message to world that people in Kashmir are being brutally massacred by Indian forces.
Strongly criticizing Omar Abdullah and the authorities for their inhuman and callous approach, said that they were still enjoying the music show in Shalimar Bagh when in Shopian people were mourning for four youth killed in unprovoked firing of CRPF personell.
Geelani in a statement issued to KNS, addressed to German Ambassador Michael Steiner and Zubin Mehta, said that you have done and nobody else can play with their instruments or sing over the dead bodies and their coffin, and added however you displayed it and you have not left any good impression. While addressing Zubin Mehta and German ambassador, Syed Ali Geelani asked that they should apologize for their conduct and added that if their conscious are alive otherwise it will be deemed that their feelings for Kashmir and the people living in ,is nothing but a mockery.
Terming peoples resentment and shutdown call an eye-opener and a referendum against irresponsible behavior of both German and occupant forces of India, Geelani said that it has proved that people of Kashmir will never allow any body to play with their sacrifices. He said, that music show in Shalimar Bagh was an attempt to cover hard realities about the situation in Kashmir ,however the incidents in Shopian tragedy and Budshah Chowk has exposed reality with respect to Kashmir and international community has observed that people are subjected to worst kind of state terrorism.The Indian forces enjoy impunity under the garb of AFSPA and disturbed area Act, said Syed Ali Geelani and added that they know that they won’t be asked for their crime nor any of them will be brought to justice.
