SRINAGAR: A team of the State Investigation Agency (SIA) from Jammu on Friday conducted a raid in Poonch.
Officials said that the raid was carried out at the residence of one Zameer Ahmed Sheikh, son of Abdul Majid Sheikh, originally a resident of village Saillan under Police Station Surankote and presently living on rent at Ward No. 03 near District Police Lines, Poonch.
“The raid was conducted in connection with FIR No. 01/2025, registered under sections 13, 18, 18B, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) at the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) Jammu, they said. Further searches are likely to be conducted at several other locations across district Poonch as part of the ongoing investigation,” they said.
Authorities have placed certain locations under surveillance, and further developments are being closely monitored, they added. (JKNS)
