SRINAGAR: Renowned Kashmiri artist and singer Haqani Jameela Khan from Batamaloo-Srinagar on Saturday joined Apni Party at its office in Lal Chowk, Srinagar.

The joining ceremony took place in presence of Party Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, State Secretary and District President Budgam Muntazir Mohi-ud-din, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh, District President Kupwara Raja Manzoor, District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Mir, DDC Chairman Srinagar Aftab Malik, DDC Vice Chairman Srinagar Bilal Bhat and District Organiser Shopian Athar Reshi.

Welcoming the new entrant into the party-fold, Mohammad Ashraf Mir asserted that Apni Party adheres to the principle of ‘politics of truth’ which demands sincerity and efforts at grass root levels “Apni Party is open to all those who altruistically wish to serve the people of J&K and put unstinted efforts to alleviate their sufferings,” Mir said.

He also said that the situation in J&K remains appalling with regard to the abrupt stagnation of various developmental projects due to the lackadaisical approach of the current administration.

“Apni Party wants resolution to the problems faced by the people at large. The developmental works have come to a standstill in absence of a democratically elected government and there exists a dire need for an accountable government,” he said

On the occasion, Jameela Khan thanked the party leadership for providing her with such a magnanimous platform and pledged to work for the welfare of the people and strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
