SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday attached a single-storey residential house belonging to an accused in a narcotics case, acting under Section 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The property belongs to Mohd Yousuf Hajam, son of Ghulam Mohammad Hajam, a resident of Panchalthan Chatergul, and has been identified as allegedly acquired through proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
According to officials, the attachment is linked to Case FIR No. 42/2026 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Utrasoo, in which the accused is named.
Police said the action forms part of ongoing efforts to target the financial assets of individuals involved in the narcotics trade, with the aim of disrupting the broader drug trafficking network.
Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to taking stringent action against drug peddlers and urged the public to share credible information to help curb the drug menace in theregion.
