Six Arrested in Central Kashmir for Social Media Misuse: Police

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police booked six individuals for creating fake accounts and sharing content glorifying militancy, which could disturb public peace and incite unrest, officials said.

A police spokesperson in a statement said, “Police identified the individuals as Hilal Ahmad Dar of Sholipora, Owais Ahmad Khan of Soibugh Daharmuna, Suhail Ahmad Sheikh of Batpora, Umar Shafi Sofi of Ompora, Mohammad Amir Khan of Ichkoot, and Shahid Mir of Sheikhpora Chatterhama, Budgam. These individuals used fake social media accounts to propagate misleading and unlawful content. Legal action has been initiated against them under preventive detention laws.”

Police urged social media users to act responsibly and refrain from posting or sharing illegal, misleading, or disruptive content.
