SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested six militants associates from Srinagar and seized vehicles and bikes used by militants, who were involved in highway attacks.

They have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Ganaie son of Abdul Rashid Ganaie a resident of Ganaie Mohallah Chattergam Chadoora, Faisal Mushtaq Ganie son of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganaie a resident of Anbagh Nowgam, Shakir Ahmad Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar a resident of Marvel KaKapora Pulwama, Suhail Shabir Ganaie @Imran son of  Shabir Ahmad Ganaie a resident of Ganaie Mohallah Chattergam Chadoora, Umar Nisar son of Nisar Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Iqbal Colony Wanbal Shankerpora Nowgam and Suhail Nisar son of Nisar Ahmad Ganaie a resident of  Anbagh Nowgam.

A top police official said that three vehicles and three bikes were recovered from the detained persons, which were used by militants in Gulshan Nagar, Nowgam, New Bypass,Taigan, Kaisarmulah Chadoora areas for subversive activities.

He said that the details are of the vehicles seized are  Tavera Vehicle bearing Registration No JK01N-4348, Bike Pulsar bearing Registration No JK04D-8329, Bike Yamaha R15 bearing Registration No JK01S-6, Alto White Colour Registration No JK04B-7730, Alto 800 bearing Registration No JK13E-8162 and Bike bearing Registration No, JK04E-5369.

A case under the anti-subversive act has been registered by the police and the detained are being interrogated.
