The meeting, however, is yet to take a final decision. There were reports that the two bodies might consult stakeholders and meet again before taking the call, Daily Excelsior reported.

Lone Lok Sabha seat in the UT of Ladakh is scheduled to go to polls in fifth phase on May 20. The seat was won by the BJP in 2014 and 2019 elections when Ladakh was part of undivided State of Jammu and Kashmir.

The LAB and KDA leadership discussed series of measures to intensify agitation for grant of Statehood and Sixth Schedule status to Ladakh during two hours long meeting here.

A decision is expected to be announced shortly, the newspaper reported.

However, no official statement was released after the meeting.
