SKIMS Hosts Women’s Health Screening Camp Under ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan’

   

SRINAGAR: The Women Welfare Forum of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) today organised a Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Screening Camp for its women employees at the institute’s auditorium.

The camp was inaugurated by Director SKIMS and EOSG, Prof. M Ashraf Ganie, in the presence of Dean Medical Faculty, SKIMS, and Medical Superintendent, Prof Sadaf Ali, who also chairs the Women Welfare Forum.

Prof. Ganie lauded the organisers for the initiative and said that women’s health remains central to institutional strength and productivity. “The initiative under the banner of ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan’ holds great significance, as the health of women employees is crucial for the institution. SKIMS has always taken a lead role in ensuring the well-being of its workforce, with a special focus on women’s health,” he said.

The camp was held under the chairpersonship of Prof Sadaf Ali and coordinated by Organising Secretary Dr Shamila H Qadri.

A range of health stalls were set up, offering services such as blood pressure monitoring, breast screening, chronic liver disease assessment, obesity screening, and other lifestyle-related health checks. The event saw active participation from women employees across SKIMS and was received positively by the staff.
