Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday said that SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has generated Rs 12 Crore (approx) during the financial year 2015-16 against an amount of Rs 28,652 lakhs financial aid provided by the government during the same time.

Responding to a question, Minister in charge health and medical education, said that during the financial year 2014-15 an amount Rs 26,819 Lakhs were provided as financial aid to SKIMS.

The government in a written response further stated that the revenue generated daily through various centers at SKIMS Soura is approximately Rs 3.49 lakh.

Responding to a question of PDP lawmaker Abid Ansari on whether government was committed to provide class-IV jobs to those land owners who had donated their land to SKIMS, the government said that the land owners who have provided land for the construction of the hospital have been compensated in terms of the land acquisition act.

“No assurance was made by the SKIMS authorities for providing any kind of job in lieu of the land.”
