SRINAGAR: Two innovators from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir have clinched the first and second prizes at the National Agri Innovation Contest held in Bhatinda, Punjab.
The innovators, Owais Ali Wani and Bushra Naaz, received the first and second prizes, respectively, at the innovation contest organized by Baba Farid School of Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Startup Punjab, Government of Punjab.
The contest attracted 112 applications from across the country, with 18 being shortlisted to present their innovations in the final round. Among the 18 finalists, six hailed from SKUAST-K.
The jury not only commended the SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship Centre for effectively mentoring and guiding these young minds but also recommended that other innovators seek mentorship and support from SKUAST-K Incubator.
The awardees were honored by the Director of School of Entrepreneurship, Startup Punjab, and the jury panel.
Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, extended his congratulations to the young innovators and their mentors for bringing distinction to the university. He also praised Prof Haroon R Naik, Director of Planning & Monitoring at SKUAST-K, and Naveed Hamid, Chief Executive Officer of SKIIEC, for their significant contributions in fostering a vibrant Innovation, Incubation, and Startup ecosystem.
