In memory of slain Gowhar Nazir Dar (22)—a student of SSM college of engineering killed by CRPF men from HMT camp as per his family on November 07—the college administration has announced a scholarship ‘Shaheed Gowhar Nazir’, which will be given to an orphan student every year on the day of his killing.

A student from SSM College informed Kashmir Life over phone, “The principal, Nazir Ahmad Shah informed us about the scholarship in memory of Gowhar which will be given every year to an orphan after qualifying a test.”

The student said that the principal didn’t say a word about the enquiry into his killing. “So all students have boycotted their classes and are protesting in college,” he said.

As the reports last came in, students had assembled on Pattan highway in protest of the killing.
