Slain militant’s detained brother escapes from custody

Slain Hizb militants brother who was detained in connection with the murder of a man in Shopian district of south Kashmir, has escaped from a police station on Tuesday late evening.

An official said that Suhail Ahmad Wani brother of a slain Hizb militant Nasir Wani of Heff Shopian who was detained with two other men last week, escaped from Police Station Zainpora around 8:30 pm on Tuesday.

Suhail was arrested along with two other persons Shakir Ahmad Padder of Heff Shopian (brother of slain HM commander Saddam Padder) and Suhail Ahmad Sheikh by police in connection with the killing of the civilian Tariq Ahmad Mohan, he said.

The official said a search operation has been launched to nab the Suhail.
