Srinagar based defence spokesperson Friday afternoon said that at about 0800 hours today, an army patrol in Turtuk area of Ladakh was hit by an avalanche in which two army men were buried under the snow.
“Immediate rescue drills resulted in one army man being rescued while the second army personnel is still missing,” the spokesperson said.
“The rescued army man is critical and is being evacuated to the nearest military hospital. All efforts are being made to rescue the missing one,” the spokesperson added.
