SSP Traffic (Rural) said, “Traffic on the highway has been suspended from both sides, i.e., Srinagar and Jammu. No vehicles are being allowed to ply on the highway.”

He further mentioned that approximately 350 heavy motor vehicles and 150 light motor vehicles are currently stranded on the highway. “It has been snowing continuously. We are working to clear the vehicles stuck on the highway. Our advice to commuters is to avoid travelling on the highway until the weather improves and snow is cleared,” he added.

The SSP Traffic (Rural) emphasised that snow clearance efforts would accelerate once the snowfall ceases. “We are operating as a team, and collective efforts are being made to provide all possible assistance to the people,” he said. (KNO)
