SRINAGAR: The 280-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country was closed for traffic on Monday due to fresh snowfall and landslides triggered by rains at Ramban area.

A traffic police official said that Kashmir highway was closed due to landslides at Ramban and fresh snowfall.

“The traffic movement will be allowed after the road is cleared,” he said, adding that men and machinery have been pressed into the service to clear the road.
