The government on Wednesday informed that 7157 passport verifications are pending disposal in J&K.
In a written reply to legislator, Aijaz Ahmad Mir, the government informed the lower house that 1179 LoC permit applications of state subjects of Jammu and Kashmir and 2736 permit applications of Pakistan administered Kashmir are pending verifications.
It also added, “between January 2015 and September 17 this year, 135 passport verifications have been sent by CID as Not-Recommended.”
Further, the reply said, “from the commencement of LoC travel till September 17 this year, 5675 state subjects of J&K and 5087 state subjects of PaK have not been recommended for travel via LoC.”
The government asserted that it cannot reveal the identities of such persons.
