In the complaint, Thakur highlighted the video uploaded by a social media user named Illyas Mir Magami @ Magamiillyas, alleging it falsely stated that the Centre intended to revoke the reservation of SC and ST communities in Jammu and Kashmir. Thakur urged swift action against the individual to prevent potential unrest among the SC and ST communities.

Following the complaint, a case was registered at Magam Budgam police station on Monday under sections 505(2) (statements conducing to public mischief) and 171G (false statement in connection with an election) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the FIR, investigations revealed that the video was shared on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) with the intention of spreading misleading information and stirring discord among different societal groups.

The FIR further reads that the case has been entrusted to a Sub-Inspector for further investigation.
