SOG man injured in Shopian shootout, scribe beaten

 SRINAGAR: Suspected militants opened fire on SOG personnel on the main road in Imam Sahab in Shopian. One of the personnel was injured.

Reports said the injured SOG man has received three bullets. He was initially rushed to Shopian but was later driven to Srinagar. He has two bullets in his belly and one in his arm.

Militants have escaped from the spot but the SOG and paramilitary forces have laid a cordon of the belt

The injured cop was local. He has been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Gania son of Ghulam Ahmad Ganai, a resident of Chitragam village.

In Shopian when the injured cop was rushed from treatment, a photographer had started shooting the detail. He was immediately stopped and beaten in full public view. He was identified as Shah Irshad, who works as a stringer for various TV channels, reports added.
