Describing the offer of dialogue to Government of India by the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief for the permanent resolution of Kashmir issue as a right step taken at the right time Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has said that time has come when leadership of both the countries need to show political courage and shed their confrontationist approach for the better future of the people of this region and start a result oriented dialogue process for the resolution of Kashmir issue and all other pending issues.
Mirwaiz further said that the policy of reluctance towards the resolution of Kashmir has turned the issue into a nuclear flashpoint and any clash or confrontation between the two nuclear powers connected with the issue could give rise to a dangerous situation in the Sub-Continent.
“APHC has always supported dialogue for a just and permanent resolution of Kashmir, however, the inclusion of Kashmiri people was imperative to make such a process credible and meaningful,” he said. People of Kashmir, he said, have made huge sacrifices for the exercise of the right of self determination and in so far as being the basic stakeholders their aspirations and wishes could not be ignored.
Chairman APHC also welcomed the recently passed resolution by the Pakistan’s National Assembly asking India for complete withdrawal of its troops and revocation of all black laws from Kashmir as well as end to all human rights violations in the state and also for the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris.
Mirwaiz said that Pakistan not only has been a strong advocate of the Kashmiri’s movement for right of self determination but has always supported this movement on moral, political and diplomatic fronts and all this has been a source of encouragement for the people of Kashmir. He said that by insisting on the just and equitable resolution of Kashmir issue and showing regard for the sacrifices and aspirations of Kashmiris the National Assembly of Pakistan has shown a will and political courage towards the resolution of the issue.
Mirwaiz said that government of India should shun its policy of delay and stubbornness towards the resolution of Kashmir issue and should come forward to start a dialogue with Kashmiris and Pakistan for the resolution of the issue.
