A 31-year-old man, Nazir Ahmad who allegedly axed his elderly father Abdul Majeed to death was arrested from a forest area in Ramban district, conformed a police official.
Accused of killing his elderly father brutally, Nazir had fled from the scene at Chabba Dhamote village.
According to reports the father-son duo entered into a heated argument over some issue in their house on Sunday, November 19, and in a fit of rage, Nazir attacked his father with the axe, causing grievous head injuries to him.
He was rushed to the district hospital in Ramban and after initial treatment was referred to the Government Medical College, Jammu where he succumbed to injuries.
“The accused was arrested from Ganote forest area where he was hiding for the past week,” a police official said.
