Jammu Kashmir: Director Finance Bereaved, Son Dies of Cardiac Arrest

   

SRINAGAR: Amaan Zahoor Wani, son of Jammu and Kashmir government’s Director of Finance Zahoor Ahmad Wani, died in Delhi after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest, family sources said on Monday.

According to reports, Amaan had recently joined a contractual government job in Delhi and was reportedly in good health. On the day of the incident, he had spoken to his mother before going to a gym, where he is said to have collapsed. He was taken for medical attention, but doctors could not revive him. He was around 25 years of age.

His sudden demise has sent shockwaves through his native village of Seer Hamdan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, as well as among relatives and acquaintances.

Family sources said his mortal remains are being brought from Delhi to Srinagar and are expected to arrive later in the day. The last rites are likely to be performed thereafter.

He is survived by his parents and two brothers, Adnan Wani, a JKAS officer, and Azaan Wani, a journalist.

Condolences have been pouring in from various quarters, with many expressing grief over the untimely loss of a young life.
