The officials from Public Health Engineering (PHE) Friday said that portable water supply to Srinagar from areas like Rangil and Alasteng shall remain affected as cloudburst in Sonamarg has aggravated the turbidity of the Sindh River.
“Turbidity in river Sindh has reached abnormal levels due to cloudbursts that hit Kangan and Sonamarg areas last evening,” the officials said. As a result, they said, water supply in Srinagar areas will remain affected today.
Earlier two persons died and another four went missing after cloudburst Wednesday wreaked fury in Sonamarg near place enroute to Amarnath yatra.
