Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday issued the following statement regarding attack saying that today at about 1730hrs militants fired upon Joint Naka party of Police & CRPF at Ahad Baba crossing area of Sopore.
A police spokesman in a statement said, “ In the incident, 05 CRPF personnel of 179BN sustained gunshot injuries and were evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.”“However, 03 injured CRPF personnel among them succumbed to their injuries and succumbed,” said the spokesman.

“We paid our rich tributes to the slain who made supreme sacrifices in the line of duty,” he said.
“Police has registered a case and officers are investigating the circumstances of this crime,” said the spokesman.
