SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday late evening issued following statement regarding Sopore civilian killing saying that today at about 2130hrs Sopore police received information about a crime incident in Bomai area of Sopore where gunmen had fired on a civilian.
A police spokesman in a statement said that officers attending the crime spot learnt that one individual was shot at by the militants near his house in Bomai Sopore.
“He has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Najar son of Manzoor Ahmad Najar resident of Adipora Bomai Sopore. He has received grievous gunshot injuries in this incident. He was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries,” said the spokesman.
“Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law,” he said.
“The investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this crime. The area has been cordoned and searches in the area is going on,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
