Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a militant were killed and several others including Station House Officer (SHO) were injured in a militant attack on Wednesday in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Reports said that the militants opened fire upon police and the CRPF near Oxford School at KP road in Anantnag town.

They said that the fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering a brief gunfight.

In the incident, five CRPF men and SHO Police Station Sadder Inspector Arshad Ahmad Khan suffered bullet injuries. Besides, a lady identified as Snobar also sustained a bullet wound in her leg, said the reports.

They said that a militant was killed in the shootout. However, there was no official confirmation.

Reports said the injured personnel were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
