SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Saturday inaugurated a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Devsar in Kulgam district.
MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroz Ahmad, senior officers from the district administration and health department, along with a large gathering of locals, were present at the event.
Speaking at the inauguration, Itoo said the PHC will provide accessible and quality healthcare services to residents at their doorstep. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding health infrastructure in rural and far-flung areas to ensure no one is deprived of basic medical facilities.
The Minister highlighted various initiatives taken in the health sector and urged medical staff to serve the people with dedication and compassion. She added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the government remains committed to transparency, accountability, and a pro-people approach aimed at holistic development across Jammu and Kashmir.
MLA Peerzada Feroz Ahmad welcomed the new facility, noting it would significantly strengthen healthcare services in Devsar. He also sought further upgradation of hospitals and schools in the constituency.
Later, the Minister interacted with locals, listened to their demands regarding development, and assured that their genuine concerns would be addressed promptly.
