South Kashmir: Police Attach House Worth Rs 23.79 Lakh in Narcotics Case

   

SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday attached a residential house worth Rs 23,79,669 belonging to an alleged drug trafficker in connection with a narcotics case, officials said.

According to officials, the attached property belongs to Abdul Hamid Thoker, son of Abdul Raheem Thoker, a resident of Nusipora Keegam, and was identified during investigation as having been acquired through proceeds from the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics.

The property was attached in connection with FIR No. 31/2026 registered at Police Station Shopian.

Officials said the attachment proceedings were carried out in the presence of a duly constituted police team, an Executive Magistrate, the Lambardar and the Chowkidar, ensuring compliance with all legal procedures and maintaining transparency.

Police said the action forms part of the ongoing drive against narcotics, aimed at dismantling the financial networks of those involved in the illegal drug trade.

Reiterating its commitment to eradicating the drug menace, Jammu and Kashmir Police said it would continue targeting both offenders and assets generated through illicit activities. The police also appealed to the public to share information about drug trafficking and related offences.
