South Kashmir: Police Attach Vehicle in NDPS Case

   

SRINAGAR: Police in Anantnag district of south Kashmir have attached a vehicle used in a narcotics case as part of action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said on Monday.

Police Station Utrasoo attached an Alto vehicle bearing registration number JK03K-9820, belonging to Farooq Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Fazil Khan, a resident of Poshnari Checklipora Chatergul. The vehicle was allegedly used for the transportation and concealment of narcotic drugs.

Officials said the vehicle is connected with Case FIR No. 39/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Utrasoo.

Police stated that the attachment of the vehicle is part of efforts to target both narcotics and the assets used in their illegal trade, aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of drug trafficking networks.

They reiterated their commitment to maintaining a strict zero-tolerance approach towards drug-related offences and safeguarding youth from substance abuse.
