South Kashmir: Police Disengage SPO Over Involvement in NDPS Case

   

SRINAGAR: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag has disengaged a Special Police Officer (SPO) from service after he was found involved in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The SPO has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Malik, son of Mohammad Ramzan Malik, a resident of Kuchal in Kishtwar. He is linked to FIR No. 57/2023 registered at Police Station Devsar under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.

Officials said the department took serious note of his involvement in the case and initiated appropriate disciplinary action, which led to his disengagement from service.

The action forms part of a broader effort by the police to enforce accountability and maintain discipline within the force.

Anantnag Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct or involvement in unlawful activities by its personnel.
