SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir have seized a Swift car valued at approximately Rs 6.8 lakh, alleging it was purchased using proceeds from illegal drug trafficking, officials said on Wednesday.
The vehicle, bearing registration number JK13J-3347, belongs to Ishfaq Ahmad Koka, son of Abdul Majeed Koka, a resident of Melhura Zainapora in Shopian district. Police said the car was identified as having been acquired through funds generated from the illicit sale of narcotics.
The seizure was carried out under Section 68 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with FIR No. 04/2026 registered at Police Station Zainapora. Officials said the कार्रवाई was conducted in strict compliance with all legal procedures and protocols.
Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace in the region and urged the public to share information related to drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
