SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have seized multiple vehicles engaged in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals, officials said on Tuesday.
Two tippers, registered as JK04B 3749 and JK03B 8076, were intercepted at Wanpora. A case under FIR No. 268/2025 has been registered at Pulwama Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
In a separate operation, a dumper carrying illegally extracted materials, bearing registration number JK04G 7769, was seized at Khamry Crossing. Police registered FIR No. 116/2025 at Rajpora Police Station and have launched an investigation.
The JK Police reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling illegal mining networks and protecting the district’s natural resources. Authorities have urged residents to report unlawful activities promptly to ensure swift action.
