An FIR (No. 54/2026) has been registered under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and investigation has been initiated into the matter.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly collected money from a complainant by falsely assuring that it was required to facilitate official engagement in the Police Department. However, despite receiving the payment, no appointment was provided, nor was the amount refunded despite repeated requests.

The complainant further alleged that the accused had issued forged and fake appointment-related documents not only to him but also to several other individuals, suggesting a wider pattern of deception.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused may have collected substantial sums from multiple persons by promising recruitment as SPOs in the Police Department. In view of these findings, departmental proceedings have also been initiated against the official concerned.

Meanwhile, police have issued a public advisory cautioning people against fraudulent claims related to government jobs. Authorities reiterated that recruitment or engagement in the Police Department is conducted strictly through official and lawful procedures, and no payments or middlemen are involved.

The public has been urged to report any such fraudulent activity to the nearest police station or competent authorities immediately.
