South Kashmir: Youth Dies After Scarf Gets Entangled in Tiller Blade During Farm Work

   

SRINAGAR: A youth died in a tragic accident while carrying out agricultural work in the Kehribal area of Mattan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Khan (26), son of Juma Khan and a resident of Satriang Maidan, Kehribal, Mattan.

According to officials, Firdous was ploughing agricultural land using a power tiller when the incident occurred. During repair work on the machine, a scarf worn around his neck reportedly became entangled in the tiller’s rotating blade.

The incident resulted in severe injuries, leading to his death on the spot, officials said.

After completion of the necessary legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
