SRINAGAR: Maria Noorain, a resident of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has been selected by the National Women Selection Committee to attend the BCCI-hosted U-23 Women High Performance Camp.

Maria, a JKCA talent hunt product, will participate in the camp held in Bengaluru from April 26 to May 16. The camp, organised under the control of NCA, Bengaluru, will feature training by top coaches in various disciplines, as communicated by VVS Laxman, Director NCA, to Brigadier Anil Gupta, Member Administration of JKCA.

Maria, known for her skills as a Right Arm Medium Pacer, represented JKCA in the national T20 tournament league phase, securing 11 wickets in seven matches with an economy rate of 5.06.

The Sub Committee members expressed satisfaction with her selection and advised Maria to make the most of the opportunity. Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations and Development, emphasised that only talented and effective performers are chosen for such camps.

The JKCA takes pride in its players being selected in all age group High Performance Camps this season, reflecting positively on women’s cricket in Jammu and Kashmir.

Brig Anil Gupta and Sunil Sethi acknowledged the contribution of selectors and coaches to this achievement.
