Amid growing confrontation between state government employees and state government, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof. Saif ud din Soz on Wednesday came out in support of the state employees in their demand of the increase in retirement age and appealed  the  government to concede to the demand.

The support from the state chief of the ally party in the coalition government has come when the state government employees are on a two day lockout strike and have on Wednesday announced more strikes in the coming days to put pressure on the government for their demands to be met.

Soz however suggested that the employees should not hold public hostage for their demands and should hold deliberations with Ministers and other conference after the working hours.

 “If the central government employees are retiring after 60 years why shouldn’t we implement it in the state? Government should review the service rules and sort out the matter with employee leaders amicably.” Prof Soz told a local news agency, KNS. He added that all the agreements the state government has reached with the EJAC, they should be implemented. Prof Soz however suggested that the ‘strike politics’ should be stopped and people should not be subjected to in convince.
