Special Bus Service for Shab-e-Mehraj in Srinagar

   

SRINAGAR: In a bid to facilitate thousands of devotees heading to Hazratbal Shrine for Shab-e-Mehraj, the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (RTC), in collaboration with Smart City Srinagar, introduced a special bus service on Monday evening.

An RTC official, sharing details about the bus service said that the service commenced at around 7 PM from Batmaloo Srinagar to Hazratbal, ensuring smooth transportation for worshippers attending the night-long prayers.

“If the footfall increases, we are prepared to deploy additional buses,” the official said. He added that approximately 100 to 120 buses, each with a seating capacity of 32 to 35 passengers, have been arranged for the occasion.

The official further mentioned that 10 to 15 buses will remain stationed overnight at Hazratbal to facilitate devotees returning home after the pre-dawn (Fajr) prayers. “More buses will ply on the route tomorrow, and all arrangements have been made to ensure hassle-free travel for the faithful,” he said.
