SRINAGAR: A labourer was killed, and another sustained critical injuries in a hit-and-run accident in the Tullmulla area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after a speeding vehicle struck them and fled the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rashid Dar, a resident of Tullmulla, while the injured, Abdul Qayoom, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses reported that a Creta vehicle hit the two victims before speeding away, leaving them severely injured on the roadside. Locals alerted the authorities, and both victims were shifted to the hospital, where doctors confirmed Abdul Rashid Dar’s death.
Confirming the incident, a police officer said an investigation has been launched to trace the vehicle and apprehend the driver. A case has been registered, and police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused. (KNT)
