Two brothers have been arrested so far in the spurious drugs scam by the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir police. One of the brothers was arrested on Sunday and another was arrested from New Delhi on Monday.
Ashok Kumar Raina and Amandeep have been arrested by the Crime branch; an official confirmed to a Delhi based wire agency.
The government handed over the case of supply of spurious drugs to various state run hospitals to the Crime branch on Saturday. Two out of the three accused persons allegedly involved in supplying spurious drugs were identified by the Crime Branch. Crime Branch has also booked M/S Life Line Pharmaco Surgicals under fraud and criminal conspiracy case.
According to official sources, a separate case has been registered against the government officials of Purchase Committee-II and Medical Education Department J&K, Jammu under Prevention of Corruption Act.
Crime Branch has booked spurious drug case under FIR Number 10 of 2013 under section 274,420,465,467,468,471,120-B RPC r/w Section 5(2) P.C. Act Svt.2006 and Section 27 of Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 against Proprietors of M/s Life Line Pharmaco Surgicals, 130 /4 Dream City, Muthi, Jammu and members of the purchase Committee-II of Health and Medical Education Department J&K, Jammu with regard to supply/purchase of spurious drugs.
