Protest demonstrations were held at Hyderpora, Maisuma, and Nowhatta areas of Srinagar city after Friday prayers against the killing of four militants in Srigufwara area of district Islamabad.
Reports said that soon after the Friday prayers scores of the youth have gathered at Shalteng, Nowhatta, Nawakadal Srinagar and Murran chowk in Pulwama shouting pro-freedom slogans pelted government forces with stones.
In HMT area of Srinagar, people have assembled outside the residence of Dawood Salafi, shouting pro-freedom and anti-governmental slogans to protest against the killing of militants.
The stone pelting in these areas was going on when this report was filed.
Earlier, police said that ISJK chief Dawood Salafi alias Burhan, a resident of HMT Srinagar, Majid Manzoor Dar, a resident of Talangam Pulwama, Ashraf Itoo, resident of Hatigam Srigufwara and Adil Hassan Mir of Sheipora Srigufwara, were killed during an encounter in Srigufwara Islamabad.
