Two years after devastating floods hit Kashmir, 14,505 cases are yet to receive relief from the government in Srinagar alone.

In a written reply, the government informed the lower house of the state legislator, that in these pending cases, 2900 cases have been referred to National Disaster Management.

However, 11505 cases are lying static and are yet to be referred.

Government has, however, stated that steps are being taken for adequate funding, for the clearance of the pending cases.

“The Government of India is being requested to consider the left out cases by providing additional assistance over and above Rs 1194.375 Crore already sanctioned,” the government reply mentions stating that “number of cases could not be uploaded in time due to technical problems, change in status and non-availability of account numbers.

Meanwhile in a separate reply government also stated that there are pending liabilities of 51 Cr in Islamabad division, regarding the compensation to the flood victims.
